What does your C6 feel like at 120 mph?
My 07 C6 feels like I'm skiing on an icy slope while driving in a straight line at speeds over 120 MPH. The car goes in a straight line without any pull left or right. However, you can move the steering wheel +/- 1 inch from center with no feeling of the road. It feels like you are running in a straight line on a slippery surface. It doesn't inspire confidence. My C5 feels much more stable at this speed.
I wonder if I have messed up my alignment by lowering the front and rear about 3/8 inch. I cut the rubber on the rear support bolt in order to lower the front and rear equally. I then had it aligned to factory spec. The car holds curves within my capabilites such that I am not disappointed in how it handles curves, only its straight line stability.
Someone suggested that I am feeling the affects of the Magnetic Speed Variable Assist Steering. Could this be what I am feeling? How does your car feel? Can you turn MSVAS off? Maybe while in the Competitive Driving Mode?
Oh, by the way. I did change my front tires to PS 275x10 and the rear to PS 345x13. I hope this isn't part of my problem. Your feedback will be most appreciated.

I heard its because when you take away the "rake" lowering the rear to match the front, I heard takes away from some down force on the front of the car.

I once had a dream that I was traveling close to 150mph in a solitary desert road. It felt rock solid stable and was just asking for more... then I woke up . Again, very stable.

Do your tires maintain the proper size ratio front to rear? If you vary much from the stock ratio, your active handling will kick in when you change lanes or move the wheel back and forth - it has happened to me with my drag radials on and I have to turn off active handling. It was scary the first time it happened.
You might want to check your ratio if you haven't.

My car feels stable at high speeds, but the steering does feel very light when making minor corrections. I assume it's the magnasteer, because it's not like that at low speeds.

I've had both a C5 & C6 at 120+ and found good feel of the road, with no sense of lightness or directional instability. I think you've changed the angle of attack to the point of getting the car out of balance.

You mentioned 275 x 10 & 345 x 13 for tire sizes, is that actually tire & rim size? If you put a 275 on the stock 8.5 rim, you've pushed the evelope (same for rear). Depending on tire pressure your contact patch could be considerbly less causing all kinds of potential problems. Tire pressure is aways critical as well. If you changed rims the tire pressure sensors sometimes need to be reset. I just did mine, & one is stuck at 24lbs no matter how much I inflate them. Now if 10 & 13 is for the rim width you're probably right where it should be, but tire pressure is still important.
I have found with wider tires, particulary up front, actually increase road feel. Have you driven a Viper? You would know what I mean.
Finally, I have lowered my C6 Z51 1.25" up front & 1" out back & didn't notice any high speed difference, but that maintained or actually increased my rake. There may be your answer. The cars are raked for a reason the member who mentioned that is correct.
