Default B & M Shifter Installation Instructions

I have searched for B&M Installation instructions using the search function and looking through the FAQ's sections, but was unable to find any installation instructions for the B & M?

Those who have installed this, is it an easy install? I fairly good with my hands, but never have attempted to swap out a shifter.

Please let me know if there is a previous thread on this.
Thanks.

I have seen a post somewhere with instructions (not very good), but you're biggest problem will be getting the console apart. I installed a Kirban shifter and the instructions begin after you get the console apart.
1 )Open up your console you will find two screws that must be removed. 2)Then you must remove one or two (I don't remember) screws that are on the passenger side of the console underneath the parking brake boot. 3)The shifter **** on a 2006 is held on by a screw on the driver's side at the bottom of the ****. The **** will then slide right off. Don't try to unscrew it. 4) Then begin to lift the center piece of plastic that surrounds the shifter and the radio by pulling it up a little at a time. It's held in with male clips that mate up to female receptacles in the dash. 5) After you get it loose reach under and disconnect the two or three electrical plugs.
Note: These plugs have these little "safety" pieces of plastic that must be removed. Then you can pry the plug over the safety catch that you are probably used to seeing and remove the plugs.
The rest is a piece of cake. Good luck and I hope this helps. When I did it, as much as I tried to get information, I basically had to start from scratch.

Unhooking those electrical connectors is probably the hardest part. I was able to move the console cover enough to the passenger side without disconnecting the wires to install the shifter.

You should have gotten instructions with the shifter. I got them with mine.

The shifter comes with a 17 page instuction manual. Vette magazine has instructions for a C5 (uses same shifter, you just spin it 180 deg). Plus there are instructions on the Forum. I used all three sources and got thru it. There are some optional steps you'll have to decide to do or not. Put some synthetic grease on the bushings etc.
