So..............I need more torque. The Vipers are making up too much
of what they lost in the corners in the straights. I am running a C6-A6
on the track. Currently, the engine is stock except for a Tune by Synergy(335HP/345#Tq). So how much torque can the A6 tolerate
in a road race enviornment and still be reliable? I have an additional
cooler and synthetic fluid. I went for suspension, tires and alignment
to go fast. so as not to tax the trans and diff.
I am not an expert in this field, but from reading posts from the engine builders on this site, 600 to 650 flywheel HP seems to be where they all agree is the safe upper limit before parts start to break. I have an '06 C6 Z51 MN6 that I want to track this year and this is where I want to bring my car to.
the limit without going to a built-up rear is around 500rwhp/500rwtq. i think a few have exceeded this with no problems in an a6, but i'm not sure. DTE has their rears for a6's almost ready for mass production in another thread they posted.

500/500 is what's safe according to most tuners. Until RPM comes up with an upgraded transmission that's what most people can put without distroying it.
If you want more torque get an APS TT, I'm at 478 rwtq.

The tranys are pretty stout. Call Rodney at RPM transmissions, he can advise you better than anyone. The torque converter would definitely be needed but there isn't really any choices yet. As far as the rear go's, the drivers side output shaft will need to be upgraded. That is all you will really need up to 650 RWHP.
We have 2005 C6's with 600 RWHP that run low 10's with just the upgraded torque converter and HD output shaft. That doesn't mean the trans will last for ever, but has been good for a while.
