Help! I've got an '06 convertible in my shop which about every three weeks goes dead with no warning. Park the car, come back out 20 min later, it's dead....have to get in through trunk/door release and jump start vehicle. Funny thing is, after running for a couple of minutes, it's fine again for another three weeks.... We've run through a few service bulletins and have disconnected the lo-jack per Chevrolet technical assistance's instructions, but once again, today, I received the call -- dead again.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem, owners or technicians?

I have '07 Coupe with 1900 plus miles and the battery has quit on me twice. The last time "Saturday the 24th" GM roadside service jumped started me and I went to Sears and bought a new battery.
One thing the technician showed me is that the negative battery cable cannot be tightened as well as the positive cable. No matter how hard the battery cable is torqued it is not firm on the post, you can still move it. I am wondering if this might be a problem in that the negative ground does not make complete connection and appears to have symptons of a dead battery. This even happened with a battery tender plus hooked up to the battery.
Im surprised nobody has mentioned DBS (dead battery syndrome)
although this was more of a problem on the 05s - im not certain that it was eliminated in 06? IF you do a search on it - you will find lots of info.

DBS requires '05 MN6, but there is a new BCM reflash to address unexplained dead batteries in '06's though.
If not under any type of warranty, I would shim (wrap) the terminal with copper shim stock and retighten battery connector. I have had this problem several times on other cars (non- Corvette) that the starter selinoid will intermitently cause the battery to go dead, I have this happen the next day to two or three weeks later, old trick learned when nothing else worked, never failed when replaced selinoid for me. Good luck.
I had a problem with my 06 when it was new. It's a 6 speed and I wouldn't leave it parked in reverse. It would drain the battery and the dealer ended up replacing it.
Have a C6 2005 that has had this recurring problem of battery going dead at random times. In the past two years, it has been dead atleast 10 times. GM Service can not seem to pinpoint the problem. Also a 6 speed and I always park in reverse with brake on and stearing column locked. It has been about 6 months since the last episode until yesterday. Had to jump to start. Has GM every admitted that they have a problem somewhere in the electronics of this car? Would appreciate any further information.

You need to ask for the BCM reflash to address DBS:

New battery, and have the BCM reflashed at the dealer. I had my BCM replaced due to eletrical gremlins, and it happened to have the recent update on it. Solved my failure to start issues so far.
If the car actually sits for 3 weeks at a time, a battery tender would be a good idea in any case.
