well guys, I was skeptical about TB spacers...
so one day I was looking at the CF and saw where another member bought a Aluminium TB spacer off ebay.
So I bought one too on his recommendations.
I installed it tonight, it took about 20 mins to add it.
well, throttle response is better and I can tell the low end has more torque.
I am impressed with the results.
I saw a guy on ebay selling 1 inch aluminum spacers with the claim up to 30 ft lbs of torque made from spacer. WOW I have to give that one of these and these and these
would like to try it though--cheap enough
I have the vararam CAI...
That is the same one on ebay, I doubt 30 ft lbs. but it is noticeable difference in torque..
i figured it is well worth $45..
Just my opinion but I highly doubt a tb spacer will give you much of anything. I've got one as well and felt nothing after install. Even if a dyno says it gained an average of 5rwtq across the rpm range, can anyone feel that?
I bought one also, and 5hp is less than the margin of error for the dyno......
Yup I have one as well w/vararam, A&A said they dynoed it having somewhere 3-5 rwhp 3-5 rwto, it's called the placebo effect the original poster is feeling, no way you'd notice that little of a gain..
Although when in place with Vara CAI it makes very noticable gain while driving at higher to med speeds.
As previously stated, 3-5 HP/TQ is within the dyno variance range. However, almost all the results I have seen report mild gains --- I don't think I've ever heard of anyone posting power losses.
I have one on my car, installed with my Vararam. My sense is that they do indeed add a few ponies, and given the modest price (I got mine for $50 on this forum), it's a worthwhile mod.
I agree that 3-5 HP is hard to detect on the butt-meter. Throttle response though, is subjective, and pretty hard to measure on a dyno.
Guys, I know you think its hard to feel the power increase...
but I been modifying cars for 16 yrs and do all my own work..
also been drag racing for 16 yrs as well...
one thing I can say for sure, this made a huge difference on my car...
now this car spins second gear with no problem...
especially the top on second she gets all sideways, as before I had trouble spinning them any in second gear...
I'm about to install the vararam so for the little investment I will install the TB Spacer. Any advice on where to buy for the best for the money? Thanks

Throttle response is not detectable by a dyno.....
Horsepower and torque increase is probably negligible, but the ability to bring it on quicker is noticed.
Consider a high horsepower engine that can't launch due to stock tires but yet hooks up with a drag radial....no change in power, but you're able to apply it.
Many examples of "seat of the pants"...I'll claim forty years of bulding and racing experience.
Hmmm... Already have an LPE intake and a ported manifold... I wonder if that extra intake volume would have some synergy with the other two. A few whp might not be much.. but could be enough to make your car 400whp instead of 397whp.
well....
part of it is, the longer the runners on a fuel injected motor the more torque..
also more intake volume is key also...
but I think it comes from straighten out the airflow behind the TB...
