So I left my 05 C6 in the garage for two weeks while I was up at school. I ensured the manual trans was in reverse prior to leaving and it did get alittle cold while I was gone. Got home yesterday and the battery is dead. Tried to jump it off of 2 seperate cars and no luck. Kept giving me the "service colum lock" and "no FOB messages" in the DIC. It appears to be trying starting but does not seem to have the juice to turn over when I hit the start button.
Any ideas, do I need to replace the battery and give it a shot?
Thanks ahead for any help you can give
Battery sounds low. Try putting another battery in it and have the BCM reflashed if you haven't already.
Had a similar problem over one year ago. I put a charger on it for a couple of hours, and finally got it started. Then I got a battery tender & priority start unit, and no more problems. I still have the original battery. The reflash for 05s is a must.
My 06 A6 would not start Weds morning. Called roadside assistance. Guy came had to use his 25 ft cables car was facing in garage. He tried to connect using the chevy recommended way would not start. He connected to battery terminals had me hold off a few minutes kicked up his throttle then I tried and it started. Took it to the dealer they said dead cell gave me a new one.

Why is the BMC reflash a must. I have not had it done, and have no problems.
My battery went bad at 8000 miles, after a new battery and 8000 more miles not a problem. So why is the reflash a must??--e
Unfortunately, many 2005 M6 owners have had serious problems with the mandatory shift-to-reverse shutdown requirement which seems to cause the infamous BDS (Dead Battery Syndrome).
This subject has been discussed endlessly here on the CF. Do a search if you would like additional details, and consider yourself lucky if you have avoided this loss of reliability.
The "flash" has been GMs only response to this apparent engineering shortfall, and, who knows, it might actually help.
The battery tender/priority start "fix" is probably the best approach if you want to be proactive, and not let the car let you down.
