So....I'm minding my own business cruising around town and the "Service Traction Control System" message pops up. Shortly thereafter the shifting (2005 A4) becomes very harsh, both up-shifting and down shifting.
yeah mine threw that warning the DAY i bought the car, though mines a 6-speed and didnt cause any shifting/driving issues, took it to the dealer and had to replace the TC computer, said they hadnt seen one of those go out yet...
Im assuming when u took yours to the dealer - the problem was still apparent?
good luck
Yes, it was VERY apparent when I took it in for service. The Tech checked all of the codes and they related to the mass airflow sensor. No problems with the transmission at all.
They replaced the MAF and cleared the codes. I ran it hard last night and it was shifting just like it should.
No major problems, and no charge for the fix. Service as it should be!
