So I guess no one has changed the tranny fluid in the A6. If I do it, how do I get the fluid out of the torque converter. Do they have a drain plug also?
Running Amsoil with a aftermarket cooler in my C6-A6 on the track.
No problems.
How did you drain the complete tranny? Is there a drain on the converter or did you go to a shop that drains the converter by exchanging the fluid while running?
I'm a big fan of synthetics for most automotive applications (and supposedly even the factory Dexron VI fill is synthetic as well) and I do use Amsoil in my motor but when it comes to transmissions I'm concerned about straying from the known/accepted methods. There have been warnings about using synthetic trans fluids in the past but if it meets the GM specs then it should ok I would think.

I don't think there is a way to drain the converter out, even the trans itself won't be fully empty after draining it out, there is always some (most?) left in there unless it's completely torn down or you hook it up to one of those complete drain/replace the fluid type machines that Aamco uses.
