need help with a build
I dont want to go to a shop and say, hey i got 10k, what can i get. Ide rather see what they offer, and try to get a deal, everyone loves a deal
I dont know anything about the c6, also i didnt knoe, domestic parts are cheap compared to imports
. So i wanna dump/invest 10k in my car. These are what i am looking for.
1. STREETABLE, i dont wanna go sideways, and only hook up at 50 mph
2. The cats must stay, i had no cats on all my other built cars, and i just cant take that smell anymmore. I dont care about inspection, its the smell, so i know thats gonna limit my power right there.
3. Longevity, I want to beat the hell out of the car, and not worry about breaking parts ALL the time, i know BS happends sometime though...
4. I want the car set up for autcross.
So i went to 21 century muscle cars in dallas, they offered me a package for 6999.00 that will put me at 450rwhp. I also went to LG and they said 4690.000 for 425 rwhp. These are pretty much heads/cam package, long tubes, and a tune. Its looking like LG is giving the
better deal.
So i guess my question is whats the best set up for what i want, i want 500 NA rwhp, is 10k enough to do it?? Or should i spend a little more. Also what mods would you guys recommend

Counter to my experience ... and a place to pick up HP.H/C, intake/headers/exhaust, tune, gears should come in at about $10K ... and get performance you're looking for ...
Actually this is the question that I was trying to answer (emphasis added):
There are several NA 550HP (Crank) cars on the board, but I'll wager none for 10K. The LG deal is probably one of the best going. If they were in my neck of the woods, I'd do it.

Go for a 402 LS2 for $4000 or a 418 L92 for $4700
Touched up L92 heads and Intake from SLP with cam and stuff 2k
I'd go with AFR or Trick flows but these have the bang for your buck dialed.
Long tubes for $1700 + 300 misc
8000 for a 402 plus 2k to install. N/A pushing over 500hp.
10k I personally would spend the 700 more for the 418
Check out the short blocks.

Then if you ever feel like that's not enough you can throw a blower on it and push well over 750hp.
Do you need the factory cats or any cats? If you need the factory that'll save you $1700 but I'm not sure about the results seems like everyone going with NA does the long tubes.
Also SDPC sells similar short block packages but with a 4.1 inch stroke crankshaft so they have an L92 at 427 a nice corvette number for about 5k I think. You might want to look through the LS1tech.com forum.
You can easily get to 450rwhp by doing a heads, mild cam, long tubes, tune. You might be able to get there without the heads on the LS2. Also check the LG motorsports website and look at results or whatever they have all sorts of packages with before and after dynos. I'd be careful going too big on the camshaft.
