Can a stock A6 run with a stock A4 with 315's in a quarter?

 

Pretty damned close, deff edge going to C6 A6, forum member pulled a 12.21 and best A4 3.15 did 12.50 1/4 mile

The reason being, A6 final gear ratio is more equal to a set of 3.90's

Every tenth is = to roughly one (1) car length in race..

 

Look at these times turned in by forum members, then ask that question again. The tranny type is the last thing on each line. Note that the A4s with Z51 have the 3.15 rear axle ratio.

Why do you come off like that? "Not even close?" there's one entry for A6 beating all the other A4's? A tenth = 1 car length, the best A4 to best A6 = 3 whopping car lengths, hardly "Not even close"

The funny part is the manual drivers some even get high 14's
Us auto A4' A6' are made for the strip, way better consistant times than M6 ever have..

.3 sec & 3mph behind if this is on the same track, the a4 with 3.15 would need extra 30hp to stay even. if the a4 is without 3.15 don't even think about it.

 

Dude you're talking about (1) run?????????????which = at best (3) car length beating?? not any way shape or form is it, "Not even close" ..It was also ran at a SEA LEVEL TRACK, if I rember correctly, big difference everyone knows this....

There was a guy in the other Digital Corvette forum who ran bone stock A4 2.73 in the 1/4 got a 12.78 @ 111

2.73 is not that big of a difference to 3.15's trust me I've had both barely noticable, I thought at 1st there was more down low w/3.15 but up top 2.73 deff pulled same or a smidge better..just about equal

Why don't we talk about you M6 guys? your times are all over the place, very hard to be consistant w/m6..

Rember the Forza Motorsports Challenge, w/LG motorsports driver got 13.45+ C6 M6 in the 1/4 and got beat by a girl, in the Mustang

Yeah the mnanuals might get one hot time and an *** load of crappy ones, compared to a bunch of consistant Autos A4, A6, owning you all day---ON AVERAGE THAT IS, w/above limitations.

Seems to me Dennis50NJ OWNS all of you that are similarly moded w/M6! guy ran a WHAT???? yeah 11.62!!! w/little bolt-ons

A4 RULZ when properly driven, w/little mods..

But for stock A4 v stock A6, the A6 seems to have a little edge due to gears, cause it sure aint ther low hp torque readings.

I have both the A4/3.15 and the A6.

Very close in performance.

The best comparison I can give you was about a year ago LS1LT1 was in his A6 and I was in my A4/3.15 Vert at ATCO on the same day.
Only mod on my car was a Magnaflow #15884 catback.

He ran a 12.48@112.x (1.88 60') and I ran a 12.57@110.56 (1.92 60').

The difference is around 0.1-0.2 in favor of the A6, but for everyday driving the extra gears are nice in the A6.

Both are very fast.
