navigation vs. CD player 2006
I am new here and hope that I am on the right forum for my questions. I am getting erroneous or flat out wrong information about the navigation system and I am hoping that someone withh a 2006 can straighten this out.
I am in the market for a 2006 C6. This is a serious purchase for me and I want to get the right options and avoid disappointment later.
I really want to have the HUD and I am told that, in 2006, the HUD only came with the 3LT equipment group. That equipment group, besides the HUD, also included the navigation system and probably a 6 disk CD player.
Here are my concerns-
1. I am told that the nav system cannot be adjusted or changed while the car is moving. This doesn't sound correct to me, but what do I know?
2. As I understand it, the nav system requires a CD to operate. Obviously, music or a book on disk requires a CD also. Can the car run two CDs at the same time? If not, does this mean that you cannot go on a trip and listen to a CD or a book on disk while using the navigation system. Again, this seems strange to me, especially in a car that cost over $55,000 brand new with the high end equipment package.
3. I can live without the navigation system, but I really do want the HUD. Was there any combination of options that let the customer get the HUD without having to get the navigation system?
Thanks for your help and please tell me there is a way to work this out.

Question probably belongs in C6 General but I spotted it so I guess it works here to.
1. This is partially correct. On the factory NAV you cannot search or input a destination while the car is in motion. You CAN however select any saved destination (like Home) or any of the last 5 destinations selected for guidance. It's basically a nanny feature. Blame the lawyers.
2. The system actually works via a DVD, not a CD, but there are 2 drives in the unit. One that is a DVD-ROM that works only for the navigation system (it does NOT play DVD video) and one for CD's. The CD drive can also play MP3 cd's in addition to regular audio CD's.
3. You were told correctly that the HUD is part of and only available in the 3LT package. It is independent of the Navigation system. Navigation is a separate option. So it is entirely possible to have the HUD and not have the navigation system.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
It's touch screen, which is convenient. The biggest 'cool factor' is that it integrates with the HUD and displays the next turn on the HUD. Way cool.
