Default Is it true?

According to the Specs on Edmunds the weight difference between the Coupe and the Vert is only 20 lbs? Coupe = 3179 , Vert 3199 lbs.
Is this true? I always heard that convertibles weighed significantly more than coupes. Hundreds of pounds versus only 20 lbs.

Yep, it's true (true of the C5's as well). I've had both C5 and C6's in both Coupes and convertibles. I've run them all at the dragstrip, and there is virtually no difference in performance between the coupe and vert.

Even more interesting is that the base (aka: 1SA or 2LT) convertible comes standard with more options (power passenger seat, side air bags etc.) than the base (1SX or 1LT) coupe (this assuming that they were actually comparing base vehicles) which do add some weight so in actuality the two body styles might weigh the exact same when similarly optioned.
