DTC Question
Anybody know how long the computer stores the Diagnostic Trouble Codes, or do they stay in place until erased? I bought a code reader because I continue to get "Service Active Handling" messages. Since I've already done the zip-tie "fix" for my telescoping steering wheel, and it only happens when I'm braking and turning right, I figured it was a different issue than the steering wheel one from before because it did throw codes and for varied reasons, not just turning right under braking. My code reader doesn't find anything, so now I'm wondering if the codes aren't stored long enough for me to read them, or, maybe it isn't throwing a code and may be some other malfunction. Anybody know about this stuff?
