Im getting mixed reviews when im reading through pasts posts. I'm likeing the fact that the L92/L76 combo is cheap but also moves a ton of air when you want it too. My question though is i was also told i shouldnt be looking into this combo unless im going to go 400+ CI motor? I want to stay on the stock Ls2? Whats the real truth behind this?
Well I stayed away from the L92/L76 because it is new to the market and plus it's hard to find the L76. My buddy recently installed ported GM heads, SMALL cam, FAST intake and tuned. We dynoed using Dynojet last week and got 445 rwh, 417 torque. As a comparison a stock Z06 in April issue of Vette magazine dynoed at 449/396. You can read about my other mods in my profile. Next week we are going to do a 3.90 gear. The car will be a little monster. I saved some $ doing this way and acheived what I wanted for my car to do. It's all about what you want and your driving style. Sure I could go with biger cam, super charger, twin turbos, but then there are trade- offs.

well for me it comes down to a daily driver with weather permitting. otherwise ill drive something else. I want a good size cam but nothing too big. something around the low 230 area. I know i could go with nitrous for some extra kick but im just looking for a great way to maximize an N/a car. I probably wont go to the track much if at all, of course some street racing against my cuz's cobra but nothing to heavy.

In a daily driver which operates primarily in the off idle to 3k range 80% of the time isnt where the L92/L76 on a 6 liter is optimized. I dont know what you meant by 'when you want it to' if you are looking to maximize a daily driver. While they do ok on strokers the low end performance of that combo doesnt shine as well as some proven H/C combinations. Low end TQ on the 6 liter does much better than 350rwtq with other heads. Don't get caught up with peak HP numbers but there are many tuners that have exceeded 500rwhp with proven track records and since Cartek took the time to post for you, I would start with a call to them for options they have which I know includes H/C combos that not only exceed 500rwhp but also ran in the 10's at a track. Check out the low end TQ.
This topic has recently been beaten to death so I suggest you use the search feature for detailed info on low end TQ comparisons.
One last comment to help you. Gearing a car with 4.10's is the best bang for the buck on a daily driver that there is. Low end power rarely increases cam only. Even with heads the punch is significantly higher with 4.10's.
4.10's scare me b/c of running out of gear way to fast? Eventhough i know with a 6-speed in 6th gear you'll still get great gas mileage but i was thinking more on the lines of 3.90? But then again i havent been for a ride in a c6 with either of those gears so i cant really comment on that?
I really like Cartek Racing's approach when it comes to a heads and cam package. Awesome power, very streetworthy idle and daily drivability yet bullet quick/fast at the track.
