Default LT! Engine is making a chirping sound???

I have not been able to get anyone from the C4 section that had this problem. I thought I try you guy herei n the C6 section.
(This could of been why someone moved up to a C6)

What would cause a continue chirping sond in engine. Sound like it is coming from the valve-train around the #7 cylinder. When I place a long screw driver agianst agianst the valve cover retaining screw by the #7 cylinder it seem to be coming from that area. I have adjusted the lifter 2 time and still there. Sound is there at fasted RPM but is drown out from the engine noise. Noise sounds like it might be louder under car. Just can't figuer out were the heck its coming from.

I have already eliminate the alternator, power steering pump, a/c and idler pully by removed the serpinten belt and noise is still there.
The oil pressure is fine. I have driven at least 200-300 mile and its not going away. Could this be a bad lifter? Is a rod bear getting ready to let go and JACK everything up.

There's got to be someone out there thats had the same issue.

The bird chipping has been located.

I found out what was causing the noise.

Bad lifter, The roller portion had developed pit all over it looks like it was hit with a chisle. Cam feels smooth. I replace this roller lifter. only time will tell if the cam is damaged. If it starts again it will be time for new cam.

why not try a dealer for diagnosis, or a reputable tuner shop?

Default Yikes

Ok. this is probably obvious but I would guess the chirping was from the lifter sliding on the cam lobe ,, where the chunk is out of the roller,,, I would be concerned about cam wear as well,,, should be fairly easy to tell if the rocker moves as much on that lobe as the others,, good luck.
