I am told to upgrade to a double roller timing chain for extra strength on high rev deceleration. Have also been told to use a single roller but one with a Torrington (SP ??) bearing to eliminate friction wear.
As to plugs and wires, I dont think so.
But dont take my word on it, I am just starting myself.
I put a cam in my 01Z28 and I did upgrade to a Roll Master double roller timing chain. What a pain, you have to space out the oil pump and then have to re-align the oil pick up tube.
I have read on LS1Tech.com that the LS2 single chain is an excellent unit. A lot of the LS1 guys just use the new LS2 timing chain and avoid the hassle of a double roller.
Generally we recommend going to a double roller for the added security. The spacing of the pump and making the chain fit isnt that bad. On LS2's you have to grind down the tab where the cam sensor bolts to so it clears the chain. Test fit it without installing the pulley or you'll be sorry. We usually always use a double roller. For the extra $, its well spent. Also, use a NGK TR6. A TR55 is a stock heat range plug. A TR6 is a step colder. For H&C Cars usually we use a 45-48 gap
