I was driving from Dallas to Orlando. It was pretty foggy. I was driving on the highway at about 70mph and all of a sudden i saw it 10 feet in front of me no time to even react. I hit it with the lower left airdam and ran over it with both left wheels. I had to replace the foreward left wheelwell shroud since the airdam is attached to it and it pushed it back (cracked it in half) and noticed the lower bumper must have flexed since there are now tiny hailine cracks in the paint. not very visible. Anyway i was wondering if i should realign the car due to this. Is the suspension on the vette pretty resistant to potholes and possums (LOL). I dont notice it handles any different than before but considering the cost of tires i dont want to find out after its too late.
John,
I sort of know what you went thru, last year year I ran over a already dead and crusty porcupine on my mint 2003 Harley Davidson two-tone, one hundred anniversary Fatboy ...damn this thing was about a foot and a half wide and ten inches high!
Fur, guts, and and quills exploded everywhere as it spun off the highway!
Our group were all very seasoned riders and there was about two dozen riders and we were riding two abreast about six feet apart travelling at about 75 MPH! I was in the third row and usually the guys ahead warn of any hazards on the roadway, but somehow the porcupine snuck up! Saw it at the last minute and had no time to manouver so just held on and went up and over it just like a huge speed bump! Luckily for me I managed to stay up and we kept going. Fortunately the guys behind had been wearing leather chaps because when we stop a short time later they found that they had quills stuck in the thick leather of their chaps! My bike just needed a good wash, it had burnt porcupine guts on the exhaust and quills stuck in the weirdest places. Quills even penetrated the sidewalls of the tires, but fortunately for me they didn't go through all the way.
My nickname with the guys now is "Roadkill".

I keep a 10mm in my car. If it was suffering I would have put it out of it misery.
If it was not suffering ..............I would have put it out of its misery.
If vette is only two weeks old, you are in the 'adjustment included' on the factory warranty. (7500 miles) Should be able to have it checked at your dealership if you believe they do good alignment work.
