Does anyone out there know if the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system for the C6 adds any horsepower or torque, or does it just sound good? Does Flowmaster Company make any claims on HP or Torque increases from their system? I'm thinking of putting them on my 06 A6 Z51 C6.
I put Flowmaster mufflers on my 69 Camaro ZZ3 and it was just as fast and even quicker in the 1/4 mile compaired to open headers and no exhaust system at all (which reduces the cars weight 45#). I also had them on my second 69 Camaro which was running a 502/502 big block. Both Camaros sounded awsome with the Flowmasters and hauled donkey!
Thanks for any info on this.

There was a dyno chart posted about a week ago for the American Thunder C6 system. If memory serves I believe the auto was 8 hp and 9lb/ft of torque increase.I have this system on my '05 MN6 and absolutely love it,it sounding better and better the more miles I put on it.I never tire of the sound of Flowmasters on small block Chevy engines.

I totally agree. I put a Flowmaster exhaust on my C6, LS3. Definitely felt the difference in performance instantly. The more I drive it, the louder it sounds. I can actually say that the sound almost doubled from the day it was installed. After about the first month, I took a 1600 mile trip, couldn't believe it was the same car.
