When I was checking my casting number on the passenger side head (read about a mix up at the plant with truck heads) I noticed what would amount to a few drops of oil collecting around where the casting number is stamped. Is this normal for these cars? And if not where would it come from, couldn't see oil anywhere else. It is an 06 with about 4000 miles. Last time I drove it was on Mar 17.

That's funny! I just found the same thing and mine hasn't been driven since late October. I checked around rest of the valve covers on both sides and only noticed in that one spot.
mine had it too, right over the "pencil mark" in blueish green. Odd...
Post some pictures. If it's blue/green it might just be from the sealer that's used on the freeze plug on the heads when assembled, if not, then you may have leaking valve cover gaskets or casting flaws on the head to valve cover surfaces or loose valve cover bolts.
Mine definitely looks like motor oil (smell, touch, color), I will have to check the torque on the valve cover bolts. Anybody know about what the torque should be at for these?

YIPEEEEE! My car was just built yesterday and I haven't picked it up yet but I already get a chance to dig into the manuals.

no,no....my sentence was misleading...the pencil marks are in blueish green, the fluid is oil, but it's pretty common from what I understand.
