Default Ported TB...is it pointless?

Just wondering if porting the TB, with stock(unported intake) is pointless? The car will have a cam and headers. Don't know why I'm asking this since it's already done, but I was just curious.

Thanks

Depends on the price, expect about 4-7 HP.

To be honest with you, I have no idea. I guess whatever the standard porting job is. If there is one.

I am getting my TB ported next month. I have been told the hp might not change, but the tq curve will be better in the mid range.

I can tell you the response feels way less sluggish... but then again I would never pay for this to be done.. Just go buy a dremel tool and some safety goggles and polish it yourself!.. the inside is really rough. I did my entire inside in a mirror finish and I throttle response feels way better...def worth it, but I doubt there were any real gains.

Be careful when you describe gains as worth it.

They add up. There are many mods that dont seem to make sense because they are not in your face as a stand alone mod session but if done in conjunction with all the other 'not-worth-it' mods, they often add up to more than 30rwhp. UD pulley, Aluminum flywheel, FAST manifold, rocker arms, ect can be the reason other people with the same head/cam package have so much better results than you.

Peak HP man..............post your time slip. I'll stay all motor/gears with a small N2O shot and you can look at the back of my car.

Just kidding of course...what numbers did your S/C set-up put down?

There are several shops doing them for ~$75-80. I am having mine done as we speak and will post before / after pictures. Can I mention names if they are not site sponsors?
