Thanks For The Help
After weeks of procrastination (and the infamous battery cable), I finally cut the shroud in place today. Used the template and no protection to the condenser. I couldn't get underneath to shove anything up (Z51 is lower). I followed Patricks tips and had no problems but was sweating it the entire time. It takes him 4 min. to do the cut. It took me considerably longer (seemed like 4 hrs.). I tested it by putting in the V.R. but couldn't get it in good. So I recut each side. Incidentally, the template is quite a bit narrower than the precut. However, there is more room behind (to the condenser) than I exspected. I don't think the trim gasket is going to be that easy to put on though (trying to make it fit the contour of the hole). But, it was getting late again, so I'll finish it up tomorrow. I'd better!
All things considered, not as bad as I had it in my mind. My first mod (major to me) and doing it alone, except for Vararam and all of your pm's, of course. Just a little harder than the handles/spoiler and splashguards though (ha). Really can't wait to get this one behind me, so that I can start another, oh boy. V.R. is going to have their exhaust out in about 2 mos. or so and it's going to be fairly state of the art, he said. So I'll wait to compare it to the Borla.
Hopefully, the Vararam will be finished tomorrow, though.
Connected the battery and reindexed the windows. I let it run for five minutes and tightened up the spacer like they said. Everything looks great!
I'm going to take it out shortly for a spin. Can't wait.
