Default Grinding Noise

I own a 2006 Z51 m6 coupe w/11,000 miles.
Yesterday I heard a rather loud "grinding" noise emitting from the rear of the car. At the time I was making a very slow turn in a parking lot. Has anyone else experienced this and/or does anyone know what it might be?

There is a TSB on this. It is called rear end chatter. Call your dealer to get the fluid changed.

If you do a search you will find more info on this. It has been discussed on here several times.

I have a 06 Z51 vert and had the same problem last year. I had just the fluid replaced (TSB) and it has been great ever since, approx 10,000miles so far.

I had my rear-end replaced after they tried to change the fluid. This was after driving 6K miles.

I have a 06 Z51 coupe...same problem. I had the fluid changed the first time. About a month later it started to make the noise again so I took it in and they changed the fluid again. Now its starting to make the noise again and its getting annoying as hell so im taking it back to the dealer today to get the rear axle replaced. Im happy the noise will finally be gone but am tired of all there trips to the dealer. Oh well I guess thats what they meant when they told me vettes were high maintenance....but hey, they are definately worth it!

I took it in twice before and they replaced the fluid but it came back after a month. Mine is now in the shop getting the clutch plates replaced. Apparently there was more involved than normal because they had to order some other replacement parts that they normally don't have to replace. I think the extended warranty is good buy for this car!!
