Default Auto Trunk Latch

I'm wondering what's the deal with my auto trunk latch. I have to push down pretty hard on it, for it to engage. But, it will engage. When I first got my car, it squeezed down by itself, from the resting position.

I have disconnected the battery, a couple of times, for the Vararam install. And, have had to reposition the outside mirrors and reindex the windows.

Any suggestions?

I have read about this in other threads, just leave it be, it's the nature of the beast.

I just checked a couple of other places.

It seems that, if the windows are down alittle, or the doors are open, it works just fine from the resting position. However, if windows are up, or doors closed, you do have to push with a little force, to get the motor to engage. My rubber seal is pretty good, I guess.

I just went out to try it again, as descibed above, and it works normally. Funny about that being the factor.

Your C6 sounds normal. Thats the way mine works and I have read of many others that are the same.

u should never push on the hatchback.
theres a handle inside that you swing it down with.

then it will enagage...

if youre talking about the button above the license plate to release the trunk.. do a search.. there have been problems with these buttons.

Thanks, but it's not a question of swinging the hatch down. It's getting the motor to engage, and snug it down, from the resting position. BTW, I use the locking bracket, under the hood and the hatch, to pull them down. Works for not getting fingerprints on the painted tops of each.

Again, if the windows are down, then the motor will snug it down. But, if the windows are already up, you have to manually, push down on the hatch, from the resting position.

I've already confirmed this, and it appears that mine is normal, thank God.
