Brought my car into the dealer for a problem with the climate control. With the engine at operating temperture and the heater set at 75deg with outside temp 44deg I get cool air out of the vents. They say everthing is fine they can find no error codes. They said there are sensors in the car and outside that regulate the temp in the vehicle and they are okay.
If I overide the auto function I shoud be able to get as much heat as I want. Or am I wrong on this? I set it at 80deg and it still does not come out hot
Thanks for any info you can give me on this.
Can you never get warm/hot air from the heater or is it just that at the parameters you state, your air is not as warm as you would expect? What is the inside temperature in the car (use a thermometer)?
All automatic climate controls seem to do this. They want the compressor on as much as possible to oil the system and keep it out of warranty repairs. I just turn off the compressor (a/c button) when I don't want it running. Good idea to run it at least twice a month for the lubricating benefit. The a/c last year turned the interior into a meat locker unless I turned it down. The heat, otoh, seems to need to be cranked up to 70 to keep the car warm in cold weather. All in all, it works pretty well.
John, no matter what temp I set it at, it does not blow hot. Inside temp was as cold as outside as car sat for a period before using. Did not have this problem before. I bought the car new in May 05. It has 4,691miles at this time. it sits in a heated attached garage. I do not drive it much in cold weather. My suv has climate control. When I overide auto I can get hot air out of the vents.
