Default No Competative Driving Mode, Why?

I've noticed here lately that I have no "Competative Driving" mode when scrolling through my Active Handling options. I used to have it, but now it's gone. When I press the button all I get is "Active Handling\Traction On" or "Active Handling\Traction Off". Does anybody have any idea what could be going on here?

This has been addressed in the Corvette FAQ. Go to that section. The only problem is you on that one. You don't know how to do it!!!

Wow, this is kind of a smarta$$ answer, isn't it?

I paged through all of the FAQ and couldn't find it.

What am I missing. you press the button twice.

It's not like the C5 where you had to hold it for 5 seconds.

Do you have a "Service Tire Monitor" warning? Do any of the tire pressure readings show up as "XX"?

tire pressure or lack of a reading will prevent you from being able to turn off traction control and or enter all-off mode.

That's what I'm thinking, but I wonder if it changed for model year 2006. I recently put on a second set of wheels and (unrecognized) sensors on my '06. When the "Service Tire Monitor" warning came up, I pressed the traction-control button and was able to page through the three main settings (though I didn't try holding it down for all-off mode).

I agree that you need to have your tire sensors reset, this is the same experiance I've had everytime I change to my track tires.

Actually, I do know how to do it. I did it several times before and also checked the owners manual and tried it exactly how it states to do it in the manual, and it didn't work. It turns completely off, then completely back on. You can hit the button in succession as many times as you want, and it will only go on/off, on/off, on/off, etc.

I do however believe that my tire sensors as mentioned above maybe my problem. I have had a problem with my right front sensor going dead "XX" intermitantly. I also did get new rims and I don't believe it has went into competition mode since. So I hope that's the answer! I will take it into work tomorrow and have them recalibrated, then report back.

Thanks for the info fellas. Gotta love this forum!

Could be the result if the tire pressure in the DIC were to display "0" for each tire.

Perform the tire pressure relearn procedure. After the left rear sensor is learned, a double horn chirp will sound indicating all sensor IDs have been learned.

Select the OFF position on the ignition switch to exit the TPM learn mode.

This will correct the condition.

Well I took it in to have the TPS re-learned and one of them would not learn. It was just as you described "reading 0" in the DIC. So, I have ordered another TPS and should have in fixed by the week-end.

Thanks!
