Default C6 Caliper (FYI ~ C5 Install)

Howdy Folks!

I recently installed a set of C6 calipers and Z51 brackets on my C5Z06 (powdercoated, they look amazing!).

The seller sent the clips for where the ends of the pads meet the calipers (I had from my old ones as well).

I transferred the old "top" clip from my OEM rears to the new C6 rears - however the old C5 front caliper TOP clips do not fit (?)

I assume that the C6 caliper needs a clip anywhere the pad would contact the caliper? Is it possible this isn't a required part on the C6 setup?

Again for the front calipers, I have two clips on each end (where the notched out part of the pad inserts into the caliper - but on the top (i.e., the area directly above the CORVETTE logo), my C5 calipers have another clip which does not work for the C6 caliper.

Figured people who have done this mod would be the best source of information.

Thanks!

c6 calipers don't use those clips at all.

Oh sweet! Thank you SO MUCH!!

Er, I assume you mean the top ones in question because I did re-use the "end" clips (the previous owner supplied them.

And I used 3 per rear caliper (2 ends, and 1 top).

All that sound good?

Oh yeah, ummm, I think I have my fronts on backward, I just read that the front bleeder valve should be turned UP (I installed with it down, thinking the fluid would need to bleed down and out).

Again, thank you so much Mike for the Sunday help

No prob.

The bleed screws do need to be up, and you do use the 2 clips on each bracket that hold the pad in place.

Cool, thanks everyone - I checked out my old service manuals and saw in fact the orientation was bleeder UP. I'm an expert with swapping brake parts around (since I've had to correct thing like 10 times )

Got em swapped around and back in service in about 1.5 hours !

Still getting some spongy brake feel, must have air somewhere in the system, I need to hit the back up again with my new vac pump, it really seems to pull all the air out and get a nice clean fluid draw.
