Just as a side note, these do require a set of offset rockers and I'll be swapping in stronger springs, which are already on my LS2.

Thats a real good point!

Any other places? quality?
Cometic.com only have .030 or .036
My tech told me out of the two...he said go for the .030

What you all think?

Cool! Thanks. Answered a lot of my questions. Looks like a .030 head gasket will maintain the same compression ratio.
I'll be following Evilways to see Jeff Creech.
L92 heads, compatible intake, offset rockers, double springs, and a 232/234/595/598/112LSA cam. I'll turn those 799 heads into boat anchors yet.

Since I'm so down on power, I'm pretty well convinced that I also need to change heads when I install a cam. But which head is the question?
I like the price of the L92's. Less than half the price of AFR 205cc Mongoose heads. But if I need to do all that work to the L92, plus buy a compatible intake, is it really worth it?
I had 215 ET heads on my LS2, wth a FAST intake and a 224/228 cam and made 461rwhp/435rwtq. The 243 style heads work. ET makes a wide range of them. But they realize that these L92 type heads are the comming technology and are now making what they call the LS7 type head for a 4 inch bore,ie L92 type head. This is the direction that the race tech is going. I truly think that all of these aftermarket head companies are going to have to jump on this wagon to stay ahead of each other. If GM is making them then there here to stay. And yes, the price is right. GM said that there wasn't much left on the table for these heads. Wrong. My heads were CNC ported as as I stated in the thread they out flowed the LS7 head by 10 cfm. 360 int/280 ex. That's
28cfm in/ 91cfm ex over the stock head. I'd say there was a lot left on the table. Point being, even with springs,& porting there a steal at the price. As for the intake manifold with injectors fuel rails and TB for $500, it doesn't get much better than that. Hell, my FAST manifold with the mods to fit the C6 cost over $1000. BTW if you do the 243 type heads, cam to get the most out of it you'll need the FAST. I've been there, I've payed the prices I know very well how expensive it can get.
With the new heads and intake even if you don't touch them, it's a win-win situation. Been there done that so to speak.

Thanks.
I doubt your problem is the 799 heads. Right now off the top of my head we have 3 cars (mine included) they are right where they should be for power, yours is the only 799 head car with a little lower results. Something else is going on imo, probably the tune or false knock.

Sorry to Hijack but if anyone has a car with an issue and has 799 heads, I will be at Captree this weekend and will have my HPtuners cable and can scan for issues on any year car. I have a white C6.

I met a lot of forum members last weekend and wouldnt mind saying hello to more of you.

Keep in mind, Im not selling anything, tunes...ect. The scan is free to let you know what is going on. PM if you want to do it another time.

I scanned Welcometo try's 2005 and found he has a dead O2 sensor. Just helping out.

Can't wait for the results. With the exception of adding a cam, I plan on copying your installation,

Wow, nice. Yeah that L76 intake might turn out to be a real strong performer, no choice really, it's the only game in town for those heads right now.

One cool thing is that the whole set up looks so stock it's not even funny. I'm really looking forward to getting mine installed.

If you mill them .040 they will be @64cc. however that .040 is about max if you want to leave room to clean them up later. Also, the rocker arm supports are different than LS1/2, so those need to be changed.

Do the larger ports create the lack of power under the curve that some are seeing?

The only lack of power I've see info on is between 2600-2900 rpm, the combo surpasses the stock from 2950-7000rpm by bunches.

Well is that after they are milled or is that in stock form? In stock form (with porting) they do drop the CR right? Which would decrease power a tad but also make for a nice bump for a FI move

I'm looking at a set of heads to use with a FI set up

Compared to the stock heads, yes they are the same after 2900 but compared to big ticket heads they are down seriously on 6 liter applications up to 3500rpm.

The stock cam has a wide split and a wide LSA which these heads seem to like. I think he will see gains even in the midband over the 243's as long as he uses 10.9:1 cmpression or higher.

I found this kind of interesting...go into.. GM MEDIA ONLINE: ENGLISH... bring up the powertains for Cadillac Escalade ESV and Chevrolet Corvette ... print the horsepower/ torque graphs ...they are both to the same scale...overlap them! I understand from other sites the cam specs are similar and the Cadillac intake manifold likely has more torque down low but the results are fairly convincing that you are not going to lose a significant amount of low end power going from LS2 to L92 heads.

Since I am keeping the LS2 Cam...
I can keep the same LS2 springs right? or
Do the LS7 springs interchange?
Reason I say this is because for some reason the LS7 springs are cheaper than my LS2! And though about buying new LS2 springs and keep the used Ls2 springs bolt to the heads.
Just wondering just incase I decide to change cams later and get the LS7 springs
