Recently I was checking the fluid in our Vette and noticed that the Clutch fluid was below the low line. I was reading in the book and it says that this fluid not be low and that if it is there is a leak in the system. So the fluid was black and I changed out the fluid till it was clear. I went out and checked it today and it is lower then where I had left it (Right at the top mark) and it was black. We have only driven it about 200 miles since the change. I have not seen any fluid under the car. Should we have the dealer check the Clutch system for problems/leaks?
i expect it to be black consider you only change it one time. don't know about why you are low. vidal1313 changed out his for the first time this past monday and his also almost down to the low line too with around 4k miles.
Unless you have an extended warranty your warranty has 1500 miles left. I would take it to the dealer and see what they say and then you will have it on record. If they say it's OK and something goes wrong later they should cover it.
no warrantee for me. blower and all. just wondering why it is black already. can always put a new clutch in, but where is the fluid going after 8000 miles?

Too much heat and it degrades. Better change it out a few times 'til it's clear. Otherwise you'll get the dreaded clutch pedal sticking to the floor problem. The fluid level shouldn't ever change much.
I was kind of wondering about that too. I "flushed" mine for the first time last week, and it was at the "low" line. The car is 2 years old and will hit 14k miles next week. Don't know where the fluid went, but I didn't think much of it. I will keep an eye on it though.
