B&B Bullets, do they add power?
Just wondering since they "look" like they will outflow the stock C6 mufflers. B&B claims something crazy like 18hp gain, has anyone ever dynod stock vs Bullets or can add any other info?
I realize a muffler change is more for sound then anything else, but a few extra hp would be fine with me too

Free flow helps as an engine is just a big air pump but prolly 1-5 hp tops. You can feel the rumble though. I took my wife to the BBORR this past weekend and she classifed the quiet vetts as the wimpy class and the loud ones as the awsome ones. She is not a car person so sound matters........

the stock mufflers are 10 times the size of the pop can resinators that come with the bullets.
They may not make power, but you'll drive it more aggresive with the exahust which gives the illusion you're making more power

In reality I doubt that they add anything in the way of HP, but they sure as hell sound as if the car is at least 100 hp stronger.
Kooks + Bullets = sound of power

silver, you have a base line of 382rhwp after your recent mods, wouldn't a redyno now get you the exact answer?

Possibly, but I had my last dyno done with the tune at Cartek.....a 3+hr drive. One of these days I'll hit up the local dyno and see what the #'s are.

I've had two sets of Bullets and honestly don't know if they add power or not. But now that the 08 is going to have 6 crank hp more with the new dual mode exhaust, I'd have to believe Bullets would add at least that much.

Look at the 08 Vette. 430 hp with stock exhaust, 436 with the Z06 style, which is a straight through pipe. So 6 hp is like 5 hp at the rear wheels.

Less restriction to exhaust adds hp. In conjunction with CAI, as the engine is an airpump, they will increase power in the higher rpm range. Bullets have no muffler, just resonators. Except for straight pipes, nothing is freer (strange word...
) flowing. I would guess 5-8 rwhp over stock is realistic. But, the sound is worth another 50 hp!

Well at least that is what I was told today on the Dyno. They sound bitchin though.

I have corsa on my z51 m6 so would changing the air intake make any real difference in horse power?
If so which one?

Not on a dyno, but will help out when you are at speed.
The faster the air can get pushed in, the better.
I have a Vararam and like it.

The problem with finding exhaust gains is that you can dyno your car five times and the values will all be within a 10 to 20hp range.
Dyno once, 345 rwhp. Dyno twice, 352 rwhp. Dyno again, 340 rwhp...
Dyno once stock, 342 rwhp, throw it on the dyno with a cat-back, 351 rwhp, oh look! A 9 hp gain from just a cat-back!

Yep, a Dynojet is only a 3% tolerance measuring tool. In other words, the readings can be off by +/- 12 hp from one run to another of a stone stock car and still be in spec for the dyno. (A constant load dyno can be better, if recently calibrated, but these inertia wheel dynos are not precision instruments.)
