Love my flowmasters- IMHO they sound significantly better than far more expensive systems. I also love the two big tips.

For the price, how can you lose?!

Put FM on mine (M6 Z51 ) sounds great. DON'T get wet...it's not stainless.(but who drives in the rain). No or little drone when it heats up. When its cold I get lots of drone.

OK, car came in today! Put on C6 Z06 chrome wheels, yellow fuel rail covers.

Only problem is that the car is WAY TOO QUIET! Flowmaster go on tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Friend has a lift in his garage.

Can't wait for the flowmasters. The Borla Stingers on my C5 Z06 spoiled me.

I had flowmasters on my 91 supercharged mustang, two chambers and they were loud, I loved it, it sounded like a race car popping on decel and everything. But it was a bear to handle on long trips, very loud.

I'm thinking of maybe doing the flowmasters on my new 08 vert. But it seems they don't add any power. Whereas the new butterfly valve exhaust gives 6 horsepower.

I'm also thinking of saving the 1250 or whatever the exhaust is and just buying it from someone that buys it and decides they don't like it.

I installed mine today. I could not be more satisfied. A realbargain @ $357.00 free shipping. Easy install took me 4 hours taking my time. I've had flowmasters on other cars and was always satisfied. WHAT DRONE?????? I'm happy with the sound.

Flowmaster claims 9hp and 8lb/ft.The archives should pull up a dyno graph,as someone awhile back posted one showing these power gains. The "no power gains with Flowmaster" is another myth propagated by those who paid 3-4 times as much for a boutique system(flame suit on and secure!).

Can't wait for the flowmasters. The Borla Stingers on my C5 Z06 spoiled me.

OK, day 2 with my new Z51 MN6 VY Coupe and put on the flowmasters. Here's my initial impression.

They are MUCH quieter than the Borla Stingers on my C5 Z06. My first thought was that they sounded like Borlas with a sock stuck in it. Like a muffled sound. The Borlas are much deeper and raw muscle car sound. At first I thought, these are too quiet.

I drove the car about 100 miles today and went to a cruise in. I'm finding I like the fact that they are not as loud as the Borlas, especially when cruising. Then I saw a friend that used to have a C6 and asked him to drive my car so I could stand outside and hear it. It's louder than I thought hearing it outside the car, but still much quieter than Borlas.

The flowmasters are growing on me. I get the enjoyment of hearing some growl when hitting the gas and from knowing those outside the car hear it too. It is much more pleasant cruising than the Borlas.

If I could change one thing today, I wish there was slightly more growl during acceleration. Again, the sound is growing on me the more I hear them. There are times I wish I had a "Borla switch" to hear that deep growl of the Borlas though.

For the money ($380 delivered), can't beat the flowmasters.

Thanks to all those that posted about the flowmasters, especially those that posted video or audio files that let me hear them. I would not have tried them without at least hearing them.

Check to make sure that your connection of muffler to axle pipe is securely clamped. If Flowmaster is still shipping these kits with the chromed double wire clamps, the muffler may not be adequately squeezed to seal over the axle pipe creating leakage and drone. It is a simple matter of obtaining two standard exhaust clamps and really cinching them down. Also,a Lloyds mat(very heavy construction!)will help damp drone somewhat.
