Now that the LS3 is fact on the 2008 with a 6.2L displacement, what is the thought process that any has pondered about stroking it. I believe with the bore size of ~4.065 with a 4.1 stroke it is equal to a 7.0 L motor. Is there a physical limitation on the stoke length on this new motor.
OBTW Does anyone know if the Z06 7.0 can be stroked too.
I've got a stroked LS3 ( L92 ) 4.065 boreX 4.1 stroke = 427 ci. It's in my 05 C6 6sp Z51. It also has CNC ported L92 heads Flowing 360 cfm in/270 cfm ex. Better than stock ls7 heads. The cam is a mild street cam,232/234/595/598/112LSA's with a speed density tune, it ildes great. It's a daily driver,it had to. This is a road car not a drag car. Even with a mild cam it dynoed 525rwhp/500rwtq. All the internals are forged. egale crank, scat rods, diamond pistons. The heads have ARP studs. It's a stout bottom end. It should live a long life. As time goes by the LS2 stroker will fade and these L92's will be the standard. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the standard motor for the C7 2010 is the LS7 505 hp, and the 700hp supercharged motor being in the high end car as the Z06 is today. Anyway love the motor, great power, very happy with it.

Umm, they're already out there, readily available. 418 ci strokers, look it up. $4,700 or so for a bare block. Remember, this engine has been available in trucks / Escalade for a year now.

yes the LS7 can be stroked. 4.1 would be the max. SDPC has them. Short block is $6,289. 440 inches. Anymore than 4.1 inches and the piston would be comming out of the bottom of the cylinder to far. You would need a taller deck for more stroke.
