My 2007 C6 developed a harmonic type vibration in the clutch pedal when shifting above 3500 rpm. There are no ther vibrations in the car except for a slight vibration at high rpm in the shifter handle.
The dealer has diagnosed it as a problem with the clutch and they
will replace it under warranty.
I think that it may be on the right track because I was thinking of a defective throw out bearing or poorly balanced clutch.
The car has never been driven hard and only has 3600 miles
but I agree with the diagnosis and cure.
I believe that the flywheel is bolted to the back of the crankshaft as a traditional front transmission car.
The clutch is in it's natural position on the back of the engine. It's covered by the bell housing, connected to the torque tube, a solid tube that connects the bellhousing with the rear tranny that encloses the driveshaft. The differential is then bolted directly to the rear of the tranny. Swapping out a clutch is a major PITA, as the entire drivetrain must move down and rearward to remove the bellhousing to access the clutch.
