Default Diff Cha-Cha-Cha Chatter is back after 2k mi

Darn, had the differential drained and refilled at the dealer per TSB at 9,100 mi and I noticed lately, 11,000 mi, that things were not a as smooth at low speeds like they were just after the fluid change. This morning backing out of my garage it sounded like a roller skate banging on concrete and it started the tell tale moan during slow slight turns leaving my office parking garage. Well I think the next step according to the TSB is a second fluid change followed by the clutch packs being changed. I really really hate the idea of having the clutch packs changed out by the dealer. I just don't trust them. Has anyone had any success just adding another tube of friction midifier? or has the second drain and fill done the trick?

First off the dealer cannot replace the clutch packs unless the diff comes out of the car. I use Mobile synthetic 75w and it works great with every different style clutch setup we have gone with. I do not use any slip additive in it, but you can add some too it. I have run stock 6 pack clutch, I ran our custom 8 pack for the past 5 years in it and now I am running the new ZO6 8 pack setup and have no problems with clutch binding. The reason why you feel and hear the clutchs chattering is because they are not slipping, changing them does not fix this problem. You need to use the right grease and use the additive. Also if the dealer pulled your side cover off, make sure you don't have a leak now and your problem is caused by lack of oil. I seen many times where the o-ring has been pinched.

They have updated the service info 3 times, increasing the amount of friction additive, take it back again, making sure they follow the "new" procedure and you car will be fixed.I have done ~100 cars and have yet to have replace the clutch packs.
