Well, yesterday was a great day. Left the house stock, made a 7 hour visit to Cartek, and came back with the following:
Kooks LT Headers (1 3/4"), intermediate (3 x 2 1/2) hi flow cat mid pipe (left the factory mufflers in place). Callaway Honker. 160 degree thermostat and, most importantly, a Cartek tune performed by Julio.
The guys were great: they delivered on time (actually early), were more than gracious enough to let me use their office so I could work, let me bother them with questions, covered my car with towels and fender covers so that not even a fingerprint was left behind by their technician (and a great technician he is even though a guy working on Chevys should change his last name (it's "Ford") oh, the irony) and, most importantly, delivered 384 RWHP and 373 Torque. It is worth it just to see you car on the dyno - just about the most fun you can have with your pants on.
Car runs great, pulls hard from any RPM, and sounds sweet when you get on it. At idle, in the driveway, the sound increase is barely noticeable but when you get on it, you can tell it is a little louder than stock.
On the way home, I had fun destroying two stock C6s. It wasn't even close. I am looking forward to going to E-town soon to see what it does. My SOTP meter says this thing is going to rock. Looking for more victims.................
Cartek is the place to go.
Hey Dave, white out my name from the dyno sheet (to protect the guilty) and post it - if you don't mind. Thought others considering some work would like to see it.
Uh, isn't it supposed to rain tomorrow night? My car might melt if it ever saw rain......
Gotta say, I am already thinking about heads and cam OR maybe FI. But then, I can throw the warranty right out the window. That is my dilemma.
The other day, I used a Driftbox to get some 1/4 mile times without going to E-town. I had three good runs and averaged 12.7 at 114 on a cool evening (mid 50 degree, low humidity night. I rounded the times up (slower) because it is reported that the Driftbox is accurate to 0.1 seconds). I also blew two launches and spun the crap out of the tires. I am dying to know what it will run now. I can tell after my little run around town earlier today, traction is going to be an issue.
After reading some other posts, it looks like I might do gears next (before the H/C or FI) but, with the Z51 6 spd manual transmission, which gear set is the right way to go? I don't want it to tach out all the time and I think (and I am probably wrong) that 4.10s might be a little steep........

Reason: addition
Just stopped by my buddy's store - he has an 07 no options car, 6 spd manual with the SLP Blackwing and SLP Powerflo exhaust.
I let him take mine for a ride and he blasted down the road at 160 mph (did a fly by in front of his own store). Car looked positively sick coming at you at those speeds. Surprisingly, could not hear the exhaust, just lots of wind and motor noise.
He claims that he can't tell whose car is faster b/c my gearing is shorter and, according to him, the short gears have his SOTP meter confused. He claims his car pulls harder and longer in each gear - I told him longer b/c of the difference in Z51 and base transmission gearing but not necessarily harder. However, at the end of our conversation, he stated that he is ordering the headers. Guess we know who is faster now..............
Looks like a trip to E-town is in my future. Can't do Atco tonight.
BHT-Kevin: I know that there was a recent price increase on the Kooks headers and I ordered before the increase. As a result, I would hate to give you old information and an unreasonable expectation of lower overall expense. My suggestion is that you call the guys at Cartek in order to receive an accurate quote. Dave is more than fair and will tell you what you need (and more importantly what you don't need) and the overall cost.

No dude 4.10's perfect read all the posts on the last thread regarding 4.10's, I have no traction issues, I have the same mods as you, for the exception of route 66 rear cat back, vortex ram air, and a good tune. I have Kdw's with the 4.10's and I hook real nice. Just got to learn the throttle clutch game. Nice numbers.

hey thanks to cartek i went 11.62 again last night
That's great Dennis, I think that you did it in better air before, but I think that there is more in the car. There are a few more things to try on another track rental.
