I'm curious as to how many of you have done your own heads / cam installs? I have a C6 coupe on the way and am considering all my mods, and I'm trying to decide if this is something I would want to tackle on my own. I've torn into several Gen I and II SBC engines before, but I haven't tackled an LS1 or 2 yet.
What all has to be done to get a cam out / in on a C6? I imagine the heads aren't really that bad, since I need to do headers and an intake anyway...
I did my own h/c, It wasn't that hard. Plus I've never taking apart an engine before. I got the cam install instuction from another member that walks you right threw it. If you have worked on a small block chevy before its the same thing I would guess that this wouldn't be a problem for you at all. Good luck
Hmm... Whole lotta views, but not a lot of responses. Are that few people here doing their own H/C swaps?
I have a pretty good idea of what the head swap would involve, but the cam swap is more of a mystery. Do you pull the radiator (I presume so), AC condensor? How easy/difficult are these to do on the C6?
