Chrome wheels
Crap!
My wife drove the vert to work and brought it home filthy. I washed it and found a lot of little balck (looks like tar) spots all over the car. The rims got it too.
I asked her if she drove where the road was being paved and told her about the black crap all over the car. She said the parking lot at work was the problem, She said people at work have complained about the black spots on their cars. she was told it is a form of algie that was in the planters. Great, Why did you take the vette? She has the same spots on her Volvo.
Well claybar works on the car but what do I use to get the spots off the rims? I'm afraid to try claybar on the rims?
Does any one know a good chrome cleaner?
by the way she works at state farm ins headquarters and they told their employees they would pay for a car wash to get it off but if it takes more than that file a claim with your insurance company.

Ya she works there and we have progressive because it's cheaper.Imagine that.
Well sorry for the long post. I just need to know what to clean the rims with so I can feel good about driving my clean MRMT 07 A6 vert again.

Start with mineral spirits. Finish the job with a claybar (but don't plan on re-using it when done with the wheels). Finish with Rejex or some mild protectant and all should be good as new.
