Default Corvette Option - Retractable Top?

OK C6ers..... Question....... A guy here at work said that there was to be an option of a retractable top on the newer Corvettes - maybe 2008+ ? Is this true?

I assume you're talking about a retractable hard top? This would really be out of character for the car, and the Corvette engineers. They're so **** about weight, can't see them adding an extra 100 pounds, just for our convenience!

There's a company in Florida that will make you one for around $10,000. Their were a few posted here when the C6 first came with the coupe only and some guys couldn't wait for the convertible.

Thanks for the input - This morning I heard from the guy who told me about this option. He said yes - it should be avaialble and was a $2200 option... So - I will take it you and the C6 forum are up to date and will let him know that it sounds like this is not a current option.

Euro - I have to agree on the weight issue -

Thanks again
