A few months ago, I had my C5 Z06 into the dealer, and asked whether I could get the fuel filter replaced. They said the fuel filter is integrated into the fuel pump, and that I'd have to replace the entire thing. Today I noticed a tech tip on replacing the C5 fuel filter. Didn't talk about the fuel pump being part of the deal. Who's right?

You'd probably have better luck over on the C5 forum.

The C6 fillter is part of the fuel pump assembly and basicly non-serviceable.
C5's have three types of fuel filters. Early years have an in-line filter under the driver. Later years have a combined fuel filter/pressure regulator under the driver. 2004 C5's have the fuel filter integrated into the fuel pump, just like C6's.

Absolutely!
Go to a station and get a tank of bad gas and clog the filter up. It appears that a major piece of work will be involved in cleaning the filter not to mention that you need to replace the sock on the fuel pump too.
