Terrible thing to Corvette.
She looks a treat flying along and a tribute to the strength of the car but if you are of delicate sensibilities, turn the video off halfway.

I remember seeing that on the local news here, it was a while ago, at least a year maybe two. How he didn't get hurt or killed is a miracle...
He probably just jerked on the wheel too hard and upset the car at that speed, putting it into a fishtail and then a spin. With the slower traffic ahead he probably wasn't on the gas and maybe even braking which transfers weight off the rear and 'round he went
It doesn't look that fast but often times watching race cars from certain angles on TV it looks like a sunday drive, too.

No way those cops were going 165. The guy may have hit that figure, but the cop cars would be lucky to do 120-125. Even the pursuit Camaro LS1s, with low profile lightbars, where done at ~140 and those are the fastest cop cars, topend, ever. The guy had slowed down when this video was shot, I guarantee it.
