nail in tire
If the nail or what ever is too close to the sidewall of the tire (I don't know what that distance is) the tire will have to be replaced. If it is not too close the tire can be repaired. GY says that an EMT can be repaired once and still retain its original speed rating.
Depending on how long you have had the car/miles on the tire, the repair should be under warranty and your cost will be zero.
The repair requires that the tire be removed from the rim and then the hole is reamed and buffed and the area inside the tire is buffed. The shop then places a patch with a plug on it inside the tire and through the hole. They will then remount the tire and balance the wheel and you are good to go.
You should also fill out your profile so when you ask a question the forum members trying to assist will have more information with which to make recommendations/ provide information.

Most will recommend a tire patch that will require you to remove the tire so they can get to the inside. Most tire people do not want to go through the process and setting the pressure sensor monitor inside the wheel.
I’ve has 2 nail punctures. One in Bowling Green two years ago, one at home a last year. For both I had them Plugged “ON THE CAR”. Cost was $8-$10 for each. I just replaced the OEM tires. So 2 yrs on one plug 1yr on the other. Have had the Vette up to 130 with out any problems.
Go to a Good Year dealer. They will fix it properly with the patch for about $40.

The rear was fixed using a repair patch from the inside. The front had to be replaced as the puncture was too close to the inside side wall. It is illegal to fix flats that have the damage too close to sidewalls. I had a local tire shop who is a Goodyear dealer perfrom the work. The patch cost $18.00 and the front tire was pro-rated under warranty from Goodyear. They covered $240.00 of the $402.00 (shipped from Tire Rack) repalcement.
Goodyear's policy and procedures for repairing EMTs. One repair and it has to be in the tread area.
