Yeah you can use that kinda like a turbo timer. I would be careful telling your tuner you are going to send out the tune. He may think we are trying to pirate it instead of just looking at it to gain some knowlege. If you get it it would be cool to let us have a look. Just tell him you want a coopy in case something happens and he is not around.

OK so putting in a 160' thermostat is a good thing. Who makes a fail-safe one and the best quality. There are several on the market which one to buy? thanks....

I put a 160 in on Friday and the car now stays under 200. It was 85 on my way home from work in city traffic and it was still under 200, so I am happy.

Most, if not all, are made by the same manufacturer, MotoRad, and sold by several vendors, Ligenfelter, Zip, etc. The quality control is pretty bad. I got a bad one from Ligenfelter but since they didn't manufacture it I can't blame them. They did blow some smoke , however, when I initially called to discuss the problem. In the end they gave me a refund but I had to eat their exorbitant shipping and handling fee.

No, I have a 2005 and it needs to be parked in reverse, making a turbo timer impossible to use. Also, I read that the turbos are oil and water cooled and don't require an idle down, since they continue to recirculate after the car is off... I always stay out of boost for a minute or two before shut down anyway as a habit.

My 160 thermostat is from SLP (got it thru PFYC.com, I think?) It has been in my garage for about 2 years in a box... should still be good.
