I drove the car last weekend. The car ran fine with no issues. I put it back into the garage. I went to move it on Tues, and the battery was completely dead. No lights even on the door alarm indicators. I manually unlocked the trunk, pulled the cable to unlock the L door, and then popped the hood.
I charged the battery overnight at a 10A cycle charge, the next day everything was fine. All of the presets are retained. I just had to reset the indexing windows.
What would have caused the battery to go completely dead? Oh, and the battery is not original, as it appears that it was changed at ~6 months (3500 miles), and it is now at just shy of 9000 miles. What would have caused someone to replace the GM battery with a non-GM battery at such a young age? Would this not have been under warranty?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Possibly Dead Battery Syndrome. It results in unexplained dead batteries in '05 and '06 Vettes. See your dealer about a BCM reflash for '06s.
The title of your thread is right on - DEAD BATTERY NO REASON. As in for the money the car costs their should be no reason why you have this problem, or no reason why GM can not fix it, or no reason why they don't design a car that does not incur this problem. What puzzles me is there are owners out there who do not have this problem, while others do. I have been through the flashes, dealer lectures, diagnostic tests, etc....and the dealer who tows the car in for repair and tells me everything is OK.
I have an 05 6 speed with nav etc but not on star. When I bought the car brand new from the dealer the batt was completely flat. I didn't worry at the time cos I assumed they had left something on or not shoved it into reverse. Anyway I got my vette home and within days had the same prob multiple times over a period of 8 weeks. Did everything by the book re charged the batt and sure enough maybe one day later or 7 days later (who knows?) dead batt. Went out and just bought a new batt for about $85.00 couldn't be bothered to go to the dealership, too much hassle but anyway, that was over 18months ago and I've never had a problem since. The car can sit for 2 weeks and still (just) have enough cranking power to start it. So I guess mine was a bad battery but there are plenty of others who have done the same and STILL have problems. There has been a LOT of discussion on this topic over the past 2 years so you might want to do some more research. Good luck.
