Just bought my retirement car. A 2006 C6 with automatic. But it shifts like a 50 Pontiac hydromatic. It especially slips between second and third gear. I have spoken with the dealer, but so far they just want to tinker with it. Anyone have or had similar problems? I appreciate some help with this.

You didn't say whether it was used or new. Could be someone hammered the heck out of it. However, my tranny went at last year's 4th of July parade , at a speed of 1mph, with only 1500 miles. It seemed to shift hesitantly before that,but,the new trans shifts better each time I drive it. They said the large snap ring that held the whole assembly was defective. I had the dubious distintion of being the first 6 sp. auto to crap out in the US. Isn't that 'special". If you have a reputable dealer, they'll take care of you. Chevy stood behind it & did a great job for me IMO.

You can take it back and tell them it's not right and if they give you a hard time ask to speak to a GM Representative.
Thanks for the answers folks. It is a new car, but now nearly 18 months into the warranty. I only have 3400 miles on it and the dealer is working with me, but a bit slow.

My vette does the same once in a while,but I doubt if the dealer will even "look" at my vette!! {Blower,cam,headers!!}
I'm pretty easy on my car,so could be the tranny itself!
If it gets worse,I'll worry about it then!!
