First track day results
Started off with a 14.4xx lost that slip
2nd run was 14.232
3rd Run 14.040
4th Run 13.953
I did a total of about 21 runs and my car stayed right about 14.1
I had a passenger for all runs but the 2 that I broke into the 13s
Not to bad for Bandimere. I was doing slightly better than I expected and slightly worse than I was hoping for.
i didn't have traction problems at all on any run. As a matter of fact for some reason my car bairly spun the tires when I tried to clean them off and on some runs they wouldn't spin at all. Anyone have any idea why this is?
Basically to spin the tires I turned on comp mode put the shifter into S and used the paddle to put it into 1st then I put my foot on the brake and floored it. Thanks for any advice
I went to Modular Depot and corrected your best run. I used 29.92 std barometer (since you had only posted absolute), 25% humidity, 56F, and 5280 feet of altitude. It gives 6361 DA and your 13.96 at 104.9 corrects out to 12.7 at 114.1. My times typically correct out to 12.2 at 117, so you may be leaving a little on the table. The first thing I notice is your 60 foot times. If I have good traction then I leave at 1200 rpm (I also have an A6), then let off the brake and push down quickly on the gas and I pull 1.94 to 1.99 60 foot times. Even at that altitude I would think you should be around 2.1. Every .1 seconds you take out of your 60 you will get .2 quicker in the 1/4 mile.
Sounds like you had a blast! It's a nice track, I ran my 1973 Z28 there back in 1974. I ran in the low 16's where I could run in the low 15's in Phoenix (that car was a dog!).
If you make it down to Phoenix, look me up, there are a few of us that visit Firebird quite regularly.

I also got on the scale my race weight on that run was 3650 LBS which is a little heavy but I had a few things in the car with me a full tank of gas and with my prostetic I weigh just shy of 300 lbs.
as far as the 60 ft I was a little disapointed. But I think I need to get a tune and I think that might help. I've been told my car smells like it is running a little rich. A tune might help with temp also especially if I get a 160 degree t stat. My engine coolant was about 210-220 degrees all day.
Back to the burnout issue. The car seemed to bog which could have hurt my 60 ft. Couldn't get the RPM above 2000 RPM to do a burn out.

Either way, I think you still have some ET left on the table. There's no reason a stock C6 shouldn't run in the 13's. A car with headers should do slightly better.
EDIT: I just saw your race weight, that's really your issue there. 3650 is right at what my previous 99 Cobra weighed with me in it and a 1/4 tank of fuel.

So next time, go to the track with 1/4 tank or less. Put in the 160 stat to make it run cooler. You may want to get an inlet to give you cold air, or at least prop open the shroud to give you more cold air. Try leaving at around 1000 rpm or so, put it in S and do not use the paddles. I think you did GREAT for your first time.
Thanks,
Glenn
