Was out for a drive this evening and damn if I did not hear a noise during a slow turn. Thought the rear chatter was back. That is another story all together. Are there really any good mechanics anymore or just parts changers.
Back to the issue. When I got back had the ol' lady drive it in a close circle. I walked with the car and heard it from the front wheel. It was consistent at the point where it would make noise.
Has anyone had this issue? Will be checking it out tomorrow in the daylight, but wanted to see if you guys had any ideas of what it could be. It did not sound like a bearing issue, but you never know. Car is a 05 with 10K on it.
I have an 2005 also and the dealer replaced the whole hub assembly in the front right to fix the clicking when I would be backing out of my garage and turing the wheel all the way to the left. That seemed to fix the problem for now.
My car has done that from day one. I just assumed thats the way it was. I notice it the most at very slow speeds with the wheel cranked one way or the other. So is this NOT the way it is. Are you telling me that other 05 C6's don't do this?
I'm not sure if this is related to what you are experiencing, but I had a consistent grinding noise coming from the front wheels on slow turns, like when pulling into a parking space. There was a bulletin on the power steering hoses. The dealer replaced the hoses and it cured the problem I was having.
Here is a forum thread on the power steering hose issue.
Went to the dealer yesterday with the car. Only one I go to as they let me back in the bay. The tech pulled the wheel and rotor. Behind the rotor was a buldup of surface rust. He cleaned it up and we than test drive, No noise. Before this was done I hade made sure all wheels were torque to specs to eliminate that being the problem. Since thrn I have put 150 miles on the ride and still no noise. Keeping my fingers crossed but it seems to have fixed it. Tech stated this was not the first he did that had this issue.
i took it to the dealer and he made me take him for a ride, so i did a few circles and it wouldnt do it, but as soon as i got home and let the car sit for a few hours and then went to back out the drive it did it, i dont know what to tell the dealer, please help thanks

My new '07 Corvette Convertible does the same thing. The noise seems to go away when the car gets warm. By the time I get it to the dealership, it will no longer make the noise; its flustrating::
