Default Valentine One / Escort Compatability

Does anyone know if the V1 power cord is compatable with an Escort 8500.

Bought the V1 for my vette and plan to use the 8500 in my wifes Odysey. The socket in the Odysey accepts the current Whistlers power cord but won't accept the 8500s. But it does in the wayback. Why don't these sockets come in one size (in all cars)?

Anyway, I'm going to see if the Odysey accepts the V1's cord since I already have the V1/Invisacord now connected in my vette. If it does, I'll see if it will also fit the 8500.

BTW, does anyone know the difference in the powercords (i.e. phone jack vs. others)?

Doesn't work in the Odysey.

I just installed my new V1 and Invisacord in my vette alright. Just want to be able to put the 8500 in my wifes car but for some reason it doesn't work. The lighter adaptors from both the V1 and 8500 feel like their in all the way but the detector doesn't power up.

Two things:

1. I love my V1. Paid for itself many times over.

2. For the love of Jesus tap-dancing Christ, if you come down 95 from Savannah into Florida, watch out in Camden County. There's one sitting in the median every 200 yards.

(Of course, they're usually sitting w/ their Ka on and you know a mile ahead that they're up there, but just saying watch your @ss.)

FHP and JSO here more and more are using laser, which is

Thanks Mike. I know that from way back. Always around there and thanks for the reminder.

No it doesn't. I've had both. V1 no questionis the best out there. The V1 is like a phone jack. The escort is a single prong plug.

Escort, Bell (at least in the current models) and Valentine all use the phone jack style power cord.
