Default Drag Slicks

I what to get not DOT approved slicks for drag racing.

M/T ET Drag? Hoosier?

What is the smallest tire that will fit my 2005 MN6 Z51? I’ve been told 17”. And 17” bias ply slicks are hard to find.

What are you running?

You won't find M/T ET Drags in 17" but there is an M/T ET Street in 17" that should go on at least a 17x9.5" rim or wider.
Not sure about Hoosier though, I know they do make a drag radial slick.

I have a set of slicks for my S/C Cobra -- do you need to upgrade the axles/diff before launching on slicks/ET Streets on the C6?

One piece of advice. You don't want a bigger, stickier tire than the power of your car/clutch call for. Bigger is not better. Right size is what you want.

So pay attention to the advice you receive from owner tracking cars with the same power/clutch/rear gear combo as you have.

Roger that. I'm getting a Head/Cam package and a HD clutch & 4.10 rear. I should be at 465-485 RHWP after the mods.

Then yes, you WILL need a stickier tire to get it done properly. In a combo like that I would consider having drag radials on the car at all times (though not totally necessary for street driving if you choose otherwise) and a set of ET Streets for the track.
The key is going to be getting the right rim to fit those 17" ET Streets (not as good as the 16" versions but the 17s fit the car better and they do still work very well), check out out member Joe G's (blue convertible) set up and even Jerry Muniz over in the drag racing section. CCW finally put something along the lines of their well respected 'Drag Pak' together for the C6 and he has it so you could give them a call as well for some lightweight rear rims to fit the 17" ET Streets.

Found Jerry's thread on his new set up, look here:

I just picked up some 17x11 ZR1 knock offs in black for $234. The offsets will stick out a little but you can also fit more tire. I'll probably go with the ET Street Radial and just use the run flats for daily driving. I don't need drag radials on the street.
