Default potential mods. what does everyone think?

Well, ive had my car for only a short time but the LI hooters run has convinced me to do some modding. It is a 2006 Z51 A6 with about 3000mi, with nothing changed except Ace Slick wheels. My purpose for the car is mainly just a toy, mostly fun street driving and some possible road courses in the very near future. As for my expectations for a cam, i would like something with a decent amount of low end torque, very strong mid range and top end will not be too important. I would like the range to be around 1000-6000. I wouldnt like the car to lobe and vibrate too much but would want a distinction from stock. After reading some of the other forums, particullary on this cam, i would like to have ~430rwhp. So the stuff goes as follows...

-LPE GT-11 215/231 .631/.644 118
-F.A.S.T Intake 90mm w/ polished TB to match
or
Port and polish the stock and the TB (which would be most effective for the price?)
-Port and polish stock cylinder heads
-LG LT Headers, high flow cats (if i decide not to do cutouts)
or
American Racing Headers, high flow cats, etc. (if i do decide to do cut outs)
-B&B Route 66 exhaust
-160 deg thermo
-and a tune to top it all off

overall, id like a very large power curve and a nice overall gain, and noticably louder sound. So whats everyone think? be gentle with the critique, thanks ahead of time.

You can eat the whole elephant if you do it one bite at a time.

1st: Headers, CAT Back & CAI (Kooks, Borla Sports, VRAM) that should net you 20-30 RHWP.
2nd: FAST intake = 15 rhwp
3rd: Ported & polished Heads w/oversized valves, dual springs, and TT retainers.
4th: A Cam - carefull here bigger isn't always better. Talk to Vette Drs, Cartek, and East Coast Supercharging.

That should keep you busy for a while.

How much would a person expect to spend on these mods? How about the diff in price between modding a 2006/2007 and trading for a 2008 Z06?

Default

1st: Headers, CAT Back & CAI $3500
2nd: FAST intake = 15 rhwp $1000
3rd: Ported & polished Heads w/oversized valves, dual springs, and TT retainers. $3500
4th: A Cam - $1200

Smart thing would be to do the head & Cam as a package - Class "A" Job from CATRTEK is $5300-$6000 Check out their site. A supporting tuner
