I am using Bridgestone RE050A's front and rear for autocross, cost is around $260 for the rears they seem to work very good and cost half of the PS2's. At this time I think they are the best without going into a "R" compound tire. Here in San Diego we have a SK1 class this year that allows minimum compound of 140, I have 2 firsts and 2 seconds to date. I also found that the ADDCO front bar at 1 3/8" really helps.
Dude RE050a's suck. They may give you great traction at first but they wear really bad. The come on BMW 5 series seen lots of problems with them wearing really bad on the edges. Ive measured them at 0mm, 8mm, 0mm with 12k on em. stay away from these

ANY tire on a BMW will wear on the edges. Ask me how I know?

I have to agree. I have an M45 Infiniti with those tires. I've been very unhappy with the road noise since the car was new. It now has 22,000 miles on it, and they have 6/32's left. I'm in Florida right now - we drove down here over the weekend in the car.
I was about ready to shoot myself Saturday for not replacing them before the trip (we drove about 700 miles that day, a little over 1000 total Sat & Sunday). The tires are unbelievably loud, and on asphalt roads, they weave back and forth on the ruts in the road something awful. My lease is up in May, and I already told my Infiniti dealer that if I lease another one he'd have to work out something on the tires because I'll never own another car with the 050's again.
I did not even know they made those sizes I listed the:
Pilot Sport Cup
305/30ZR19
Load Rating XL
Price: $508.00 (each)
Estimated Availability: In Stock
Tire Rack
WIll these tires be better for the 1/4 mile than my 07 z51 run flats? I am hopping to get a widder rear set for better 60 foot times so I don't have to swap rims.

If you are going to burn through more than a set at $500 each, you might want to look seriously at widening an 18" wheel. You'll probably get better results with a Nitto Drag Radial and save money over the long run. Plus nittos are pretty decent in the rain.

Wider does not mean better Most like the Pirelli PZero Corsa Asimmetrico Better then the Pilot Sport Cup
What are your mods?
If you are under 550rwtq I would try a Invo or Ps2 they are way better then your runflats.
The Nitto Invos have shown 1.7-1.8's and they are a real street tire I just got mine installed at discount tire got a sweet deal all 4 installed for ~1,000

I just tried Nitto NT-01 in 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 sizes. Pretty nice, though I don't have anything to compare them to besides the stock F1 Supercar runflats... which they were obviously much better than.
They did get a bit greasy at the end of 25 min sessions, but I have a tendency to be a bit sloppy and cook the tires (some sliding, aka fun...).
P.S. These are track tires, not street tires.

The NT-01 is not only a nice track tire that you can drive to and from the track with, but it can also make for a great street tire. It is "reccomended" for track events only, but if you don't drive in the rain, then it makes a awsome street/canyon runner as well!

Heh, assuming you can afford to replace them 3 times a year...
Btw, I got caught in a torrential downpour on the way home from the track with the NT-01's on. I drove about 50 to 55 mph and was scared crapless but I didn't feel any hydroplaning at all. A truck in front of me hydroplaned and ping ponged off the concrete barriers (on both sides).
