Default Brake help needed "makes pufffffffff" sound

When to the dealership today to get the TSB done regarding the power steering hose. The power steerting works great now but......

When I got in and depressed the brake pedal it went to the floor and made a "puffffffff" sound. You can pump the pedal and it still makes the sound and the pedal goes almost to the floor. After several pumps it builds up. Also, I get a clicking noise each time. They say it is the brake interlock - true - but I've never heard it before.

Well, the service manager came out and we went for a test drive. He could not re-create the issue. So, on my way home I played with the brakes. Pedal goes farther than before and I get a vibration when depressing.

Any thoughts???? Searched with no luck on the forum.

I need to report my findings and always find it helpful if I can point them in the right direction. When the brakes are applied, I do stop just seems like a lot of travel and pedal virbation.

The "pufffffffff" noise comes from the big black round thing in the engine compartment in front of the drivers seat near the brake fluid.

Thanks in advance.

Accidently posted in the General Section.

Check for a loose boot seal on the cabin side of the FOD (front of dash) where the brake rod that connects from the brake pedal lever to the power brake vaccum booster. The seal if loose or missing will allow the sound to enter the cabin from the vaccum booster on the engine side of the FOD each time the brake pedal is applied.

Can't imagin what would cause that except for a leak in the line.

Until you get it fixed just tell people that you have AIR BRAKES

Got the vette back today. Dealership bled the brake lines and refilled, tested all components. WOW! It is fixed.

Not real sure what the end result was but I have brakes. I think that maybe something got bumped when the power steering hose was fixed and they found it - along with a complete system check.

Anyway, thanks for the pointers. It really helped.
